In 'Memories of St Judes Church, Dural' published in 1996, the Rev. Ronnie O'Brien wrote about the Galston Church. "Some services were held at the School of Arts (now the Galston Community Hall) when I first came to the area. I got the Meigel family to donate some land for a church at Galston and my family paid off the mortgage that was on it. I raised money to build the church from everybody I could find. I even went to Mr Fagan (a Methodist, but the richest man in the district) and extracted a small donation of 15 shillings. I publicised the amount in the church newsletter! I got an architect friend to draw up the plans for free. I mixed all the mortar and cement and acted as brickie's labourer for the bricklayer (one of the Dormans) who was paid £50 for the job. When it had been built there was nothing owing to anybody."

The church was built in 1938 when Galston became a branch of Dural parish and continued to function as a church until 1983. It was the last but one branch church to be closed in favour of a larger church at Dural.

The building was de-consecrated and sold to Hornsby Council who have used it to house the Galston Branch Library since December 1986.LocationGalstonGeotag^[1]KeywordsGalstonChurchesGalston Library
