StreetDawson AvenueSuburbThornleighDetailsIt was originally presumed that the road was named after Hornsby Shire Councillor Sydney Albert Dawson Storey, but it was created before Councillor Storey joined Council.
Further research suggests that the road was named after Clifford Dawson Holliday whose father, the Rev. Andrew Holliday, was one of the first persons to own a property in the road.
Clifford Dawson Holliday was seriously wounded, in July 1916, while holding a German trench. He was captured by the Germans and died later. His death was announced by the Royal Prussian War Office, Germany and is offically recorded as 20 July 1916.
