PhotographerHornsby Shire CouncilDetailsThis crenulated sandstone tower in Yallaroi Parade was constructed by local builder Burton Crossland in 1890 for landowner Henry Dangar. It contained a water tank which supplied Dangar's house, the water being pumped from a well in Baroona Street. The house was burned down in 1939. In the Second World War wooden flooring was added and the structure was used as a watchtower.Date taken1992LocationDangar IslandGeotag[1] KeywordsHawkesbury RiverDangar Island
